Empowering youth for a greener future through social accountability
At Green Totos Forum, we believe that youth leadership and environmental accountability are the foundation for building a sustainable and greener future. Through the GYLC Small Grant for Social Accountability, we are equipping student leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to become climate champions and accountability advocates in their schools and communities.
Schools, as places of learning and transformation, must lead by example—implementing eco-friendly practices, being transparent about their policies, and involving students in decision-making processes. Social accountability makes this possible by helping students engage with school administrators, assess environmental practices, and demand better action.
This initiative brings together climate action, green innovation, and youth voice. It equips students to monitor waste, energy, and other environmental resources; advocate for sustainable school policies; and help create a culture of responsible environmental leadership.
