Toto Nature Connect Project

Reconnecting children and youth with nature

The Toto Nature Connect Project is designed to help young people experience nature in a practical, meaningful, and transformative way. Through direct outdoor learning, community exploration, and conservation action, the project strengthens the relationship between children, youth, and the environment.

In many communities, young people are increasingly disconnected from the natural world, even though they are the ones most affected by climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. This project creates spaces where young people can learn from nature, understand its value, and become active stewards of the environment.

Project focus

  • Nature-based learning and outdoor environmental exploration.
  • Awareness on biodiversity, wetlands, forests, and climate resilience.
  • Community engagement that encourages youth participation in conservation.
  • Practical action through tree planting, cleanup, and restoration activities.
  • Building a generation that values and protects Uganda’s natural heritage.

The Toto Nature Connect Project reflects Green Totos Uganda’s broader mission of empowering the next generation to conserve wetlands, restore forests, and protect ecosystems through knowledge, action, and leadership.
